How Important is it to Work with an Interior Designer who is NCIDQ certified?

Having certification from the NCIDQ (The National Council for Interior Design Qualification) means several things:

The designer has a college degree in the field of Interior Design from a CIDA accredited (Council for Interior Design Accreditation) university.

The designer has acquired a minimum of two years professional work experience prior to sitting for the NCIDQ exam.

The designer has passed the two-day NCIDQ exam that focuses on heath, life safety and welfare issues and how they relate to field of Interior Design. Or in the words of the NCIDQ, the exam "sets the bar for professional competency in the interior design profession."
